I'm captivated by the life and teachings of Jesus. It's one of my greatest passions to dig into the Scriptures and help others see the beauty contained within. One of the ancient rabbi's said it well, "Delve and delve into it, for all is in it; see with it; grow old and worn in it; do not budge from it, for there is nothing better" (
pirkei avot 5:21). I'm convinced that Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life" (
John 14:6). That in his life, death, and resurrection, he has ushered in a new kingdom, what he called the Kingdom of God. In Jesus, God's reign is breaking forth into this world. This blog is one of the ways I'm dedicated to looking for resurrection, for easter, for Jesus, in a good friday world.
My wife Jenna and I have been married since 2007 and have three wonderful children: Ellyot, Brekon, and Larkin. I'm serving as the Pastor at
Westend Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We are a community who are committed to exploring and living the ways of Jesus.
